Description:

Summary: I have two Mac OS X partitions on my iMac, one for Mac OS X 10.5 and one for Mac OS X 10.6. I don't want 10.6 Spotlight searches to find 10.5 applications, and I don't want 10.5 Spotlight searches to find 10.6 applications. In fact, I don't want either partition to find results in the other partition. However, there's no way to do that with Spotlight Privacy settings. If I change the Privacy prefs for one partition, it automatically changes the Privacy prefs for the other partition. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Partition disk into 2 partitions. 2. Install Mac OS X 10.5 on one partition. 3. Install Mac OS X 10.6 on the other partition. 4. Boot into Mac OS X 10.6 partition. 5. Open System Preferences, Spotlight, Privacy. 6. Click the + button, and add the 10.5 volume to the list. 7. Reboot into 10.5. 8. Open System Preferences, Spotlight, Privacy. Expected Results: The 10.5 volume is not in the Privacy list when booted into 10.5. Actual Results: The 10.5 volume is in the Privacy list when booted into 10.5. Regression: No regression testing done.
